Objectives and Organization of the Biomedical Research in the French Armed Forces

The research of the Military Health Service (MHS) in France, whether basic or applied, is directly linked to the support of armed forces. The aims of this research are to improve care and treatment of sick or wounded personals during armed conflicts, to protect and prevent the soldier and alert the military authorities of dangers linked to their environment. Objectives of this research is to reduce risks of fighting, improve therapies currently proposed for treatment of specific pathologies of the military forces, but also cope with exceptional situations which might involve safety of civilians (CBRN risks, tropical diseases, ...).
