New procedures of role 1 medical support in France

The French Ministry of Defence has committed itself to a wide reorganisation, in order to
streamline and mutualise on a joint basis all supports to units and facilities of the ministry.
Thus, it has been decided to redefine the territorial organisation and create 51 defence bases (DB) in France, and 21 defence bases overseas. These DB should include all entities of the ministry within a definite geographical perimeter. Within each DB, a support group is created, in order to manage all administration and common support, except specific support functions – these of which keep a substantial autonomy based on their functional and technical requirements – even though they are coordinated by the DB commander.
