Earthquake Disaster Relief - Pakistan
The 212th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH), deployed from Miesau, Germany to Muzaffarabad, Pakistan and established the most capable hospital in the earthquake devastated region of northern Pakistan. The MASH operated from October 23, 2005 to February 16, 2006. This summary depicts the medical capabilities provided and the medical workload summary for the 4-month period. Widely hailed as the "last" MASH in existence, the hospital was turned over to the 67th Medical Battalion of the Pakistan military in a closing ceremony covered by numerous local and international media organizations.
