Bulgarian medical officers graduated in medical schools, defended doctoral theses and became professors in higher medical schools in Europe, Romania and Turkey. Some of the Bulgarian physicians graduated from the Military Medical School in Istanbul, served in the Turkish Armed Forces. When the Third Bulgarian Kingdom (1878) was created, Bulgarian physicians had already knowledge in military medical theory and practice. The investigations showed that some of the physicians, graduated from universities in Europe, embraced the military medical career working in: the Turkish Army; French Army; Romanian Army; Russian Army & so on.
