AMSUS – The Society of the Federal Health Agencies

The association was established in 1891 and incorporated by an Act of Congress in 1903.
The name of this organization, the Association
of Military Surgeons of the United States, is historically significant but the literal wording of its title does not cover its current full mission of advancing all aspects of federal medicine. It was originally a membership organization for surgeons and physicians. However, AMSUS is now comprised of professionals serving in the full spectrum of healthcare disciplines in the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, US Public Health
Service, Department of Veterans Affairs, US Army Reserve, US Navy Reserve, US Air Force Reserve, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and the Coast Guard. More than 9,000 members count on AMSUS to provide them with up-to-date information and services.
